Week 1 recap

Jesus once told a story in Matthew 25:10-13 about ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom. Five were wise, and five were foolish.

They all looked ready on the outside.

They all had lamps. They were all waiting. But only five had oil.

And the oil wasn’t about religious activity.

It wasn’t about appearances.

It was abthe out preparation of the heart.

It speaks of intimacy.

Of dependence.

Of being filled — again and again — with the Holy Spirit.

Because you can’t borrow oil.

You can’t live on yesterday’s encounter.

You can’t walk into tomorrow’s assignment on last season’s surrender.

God is calling us in this hour not to be busy…but to be full.

In the book of John, John the Baptist understood something powerful.

He knew he was not the main story.

He said, “I am the voice crying in the wilderness — prepare the way for the Lord.”

He knew his role was to make room…

to point, to decrease, so that Jesus could increase.

And God is speaking the same thing to us today.

He is preparing His people — not just for His coming —but to be part of how He prepares the world to receive Him.

He will give instructions.

He will whisper assignments.

He will call us to forgive, to go, to speak, to pray, to build, to stand.

Keep your lamp full. Stay close to His presence. Give Him your whole heart — not just a portion, and when He speaks… obey.

Because the bridegroom is coming.

And those who are ready won’t just be waiting…They’ll be burning.
