Learning to see what the Father is doing

One of the most powerful things about fasting is not just what we give up, but what we begin to see. Jesus said in the book of John, “The Son can do nothing by Himself; He only does what He sees the Father doing.” His authority did not come from noise. It did not come from striving. It came from intimacy. From listening. From watching. From alignment. When we fast, something holy happens. Our vision sharpens. We begin to see Christ more clearly-His humility, His obedience, His surrender. Jesus also said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me.” In other words, His strength came from obedience, not applause. His validation came from the Father, not from people. And God wants to give us that same assurance. In seasons of fasting and consecration, He quiets the world around us so He can speak to the world within us. He confirms our calling, clarifies our assignment, strengthens our identity and prepares our hearts. Because calling without preparation produces confusion, but preparation with obedience leads to release. And when the time is right… He will send you, confident that you have seen what the Father is doing… and ready to do your part.
