“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”

— Proverbs 16:3

There are plans we make with excitement.

And then there are plans we make while quietly overthinking everything.

Sometimes, we already know what we want to do. We have the idea, the timeline, the goal, maybe even the backup plan.

But deep inside, there is still that small question: “Lord, is this really from You?”

Proverbs 16:3 is not just a verse about success. It is not a promise that every plan we make will automatically work out the way we imagined. It is an invitation to surrender before we start moving.

To commit something to the Lord means we do not just ask Him to bless what we already decided. We bring the whole thing to Him — the desire, the fear, the pressure, the excitement, and even the parts we are not sure about.

It means saying:

“Lord, this is what I’m planning, but I don’t want to build it without You.”

That kind of surrender changes the way we move.

Because when our plans are committed to God, we stop carrying the weight alone. We still do our part. We still prepare, work, show up, and make wise decisions. But we are no longer depending only on our own strength, timing, or understanding.

And sometimes, God establishes our plans by giving us peace to continue.

Sometimes, He establishes them by correcting our direction.

Sometimes, He establishes them by closing a door we badly wanted open.

And sometimes, He establishes them by asking us to wait longer than we expected.

That is not failure. That is guidance.

Many of us want God to establish the outcome, but we struggle to surrender the process. We want the result to be secure, but we still want full control of how everything happens.

But Proverbs 16:3 reminds us that the safest place for our plans is not in our hands. It is in God’s hands.

So before you overthink it, commit it.

Before you force it, commit it.

Before you carry the pressure like everything depends on you, commit it.

Pray about it honestly. Ask God to purify your motives. Ask Him to remove what is only driven by fear, pride, pressure, or comparison. Ask Him to strengthen what is truly from Him.

Because when a plan is surrendered to God, even the waiting has purpose. Even the redirection has mercy. Even the closed door has protection.

You do not have to figure everything out before coming to God.

Come to Him first.

Commit the plan.

Trust His wisdom.

And let Him establish what is truly meant to stand.
